Her earlier works focus on humor, including "If You Did What I Asked In The First Place," "You Know I Love You Because You’re Still Alive," and "Mismatched Shoes and Upside Down Pizza," which have resonated with readers for their candor and comic brilliance. With each story, she invites readers to laugh, ponder, and embrace the imperfections of real life. She broke into fiction with the novella “Broken Things,” a story exploring grief and healing through magical realism. She is now focused on the Fischer at Law series, which follows the adventures and career of Jessica Fischer, a young female attorney trying to make her way in the small town south. The first two books, “Devil’s Defense” and “Devil’s Hand” are currently available. The third, “Devil’s Name” is anticipated in the spring of 2027.

Among other awards, she has won the Foreword Indies Gold Medal for humor; the Georgia Independent Author of the Year award for Literary Fiction and Legal Thriller; and she was a two-time winner of the Georgia Bar Journal Annual Fiction Competition. Her essays and articles have appeared in numerous publications, both in print and online.

Lori lives in Loganville, Georgia with her husband, Mike, her rescue puppy Lincoln, and the memories of her two children who have flown the nest. She’s a proud alum of Duke University and the Emory University School of Law. She’s a homebody who travels a lot.
